DarknessA Poem by luthien7For the Vibrant Villanelle ContestDarkness bleeds the colors from the day, spilling light and life at sun's demise. All is stark in shadowed shades of gray.
My lover's silent form against the fray-- a silouette against the fear my stillness buys, Darkness bleeds the colors from the day.
But gone he's been so long and I must stay, the quiet softly screaming his goodbyes; All is stark in shadowed shades of gray.
Hobbled by my fear I here remain, from this sad soiled prison brightness shies, Darkness bleeds the colors from the day.
Alone in my self-sentenced disarray; holding empty space once occupied-- All is stark in shadowed shades of gray.
Out there and in the light they do betray but here within the dark I see their lies-- Darkness bleeds the colors from the day, All is stark in shadowed shades of gray. © 2008 luthien7Featured Review
