Beautifully described. I learnt relaxation techniques during lockdown when I suffered from a pulmonary embolism, which coincidentally is not as much fun as you'd expect, considering that I never even had the breath to call an ambulance and had to drag my a*s to hospital with a pen as nd some post its to explain I couldn't breathe. 9 attacks later over about a month and im now tickets boo, but during it I just wished to die in my sleep.
I pictured a happy place from childhood, which was a beach we visited and could instantly hear the noise from the pier and the amusement arcade, as well as smelling candy floss and toffee apples on the air and it really did calm my thoughts and breathing.
I knew it was working when I pictured going to the horizon and floated towards the horizon and turned round to see myself sitting on the bench at the beach, seeing what I really looked like in microscopic detail. Every frown line relaxed and I felt reborn
.I hope that your relaxation technique works for you too, which no doubt it will because you wrote this so perfectly.

I am sure it was mentally hard as well as physical. I am glad you found yourself in that time though. I like to think that when one overcomes something hard, as such, it makes them stronger. One of my motos is, " You never loose, you always win or you learn something". It seems this time around you may have learned how to relax and find your inner calm, and maybe a little bit more about yourself. Brava! Success! That inner calm. Thank you for the compliment. I hope you are feeling better.

I am thanks. Plus I've not been ill since, so all good. 😃
I recognize relaxation techniques and the importance of controlling your breathing to stop panic setting in. Slowing down and clearing the mind is the way forward. I transport myself in my mind to my safe place. A calming reassuring piece. I like what you penned here.
Takes time and need to find the way to breath and somehow, feel both relaxed and free. The need to attain liberty of doubt and disturbance takes patience and thought but.. dear goodness, when the place is reached, the feelings top to toe is as near to a warm light slowly, slowly filling every pore and nerve.
Your words are finely placed, the final phrase is perfection itself!
