Creative Writing Assignment1A Story by Michael RooneyMy topic is accountability. This is dialogue specifically from when I was pulled over for speeding but was fortunate enough to have been given a break.Topic (Time in my life where I learned a specific lesson or
moral): Being Accountable Me: “Mom, I have something important to tell you that
happened today.” Mom: “Oh no, what happened?” Me: “I was on my way home to Walgreens after school today
and was pulled over.” Mom: “Seriously?” Me: “Yes, I was going a little over the speed limit and the
officer pulled me over. He got rid of the speeding ticket and only wrote me up
for having expired inspection and emissions stickers.” Mom: “Wow, you were very lucky.” Me: “I know, the officer had me promise that I would explain
the full story to you and not lie about the speeding part.” Mom: “Well, thank you for taking accountability and
following up in telling the truth to me.” Me: “He also said that we can plead not guilty and have the
fee waived.” Mom: “Good, make sure that you follow up with that.” Me: “In order for me to follow up with my plea of not guilty
I first, have to get the car inspected.” Mom: “Lets schedule that for tomorrow so nothing else
happens.” Me: “Ok, sounds good to me.” Mom: “Is there anything else you need to do?” Me: “Yes, I also have to mail in this bottom half of the
ticket with my plea of not guilty and send in the money for collateral.” Mom: “How much money do we have to send?” Me: “The ticket says $143 payable by check or money order.” Mom: “Ok, I will send that out tomorrow.” Me: “Thank you for being understanding and helpful. This
will not ever happen again.” Mom: “Good, I hope this teaches you to not speed and to take
proper care of your car.” Me: “Yes, after this is all over I am sure that I will never
be speeding again, or driving around with expired inspection and emissions
tags.” © 2017 Michael Rooney |
