Shattered Stars

Shattered Stars

A Poem by M 💕
"

Pain of unspoken love, of hoping for something that was never truly yours. Even when love fades, even when hearts break, light and hope can still remain. Explores the same emotions as 'Fool's Friday'

"
Shattered Stars

I wished on stars that shone so bright,
but dreams can’t turn the wrong to right.
I thought that fate had drawn us near,
yet love was never waiting here.

Your silent glances felt so deep,
a secret I had sworn to keep.
But stars will fade, and so did you,
into a sky of colder hue.

I never spoke, I never tried,
but still, I loved, and still, I cried.
For now, you stand with hands in hers,
and I am lost in love’s cruel blurs.

But though my hope is torn apart,
I’ll stitch the pieces of my heart.
For shattered stars still light the skies,
and broken hearts still learn to rise.

VERY nice.

Minor suggestions:

S2L4: Changing hues to hue may sharpen both the rhyme and the image.
S4L1: Change "heart" to "life," or "hope," because the heart is used again in L2 as the focus.

Well done.

About
I’m drawn to poetry because it captures what ordinary language often can’t. For me, it’s a way to sit with emotions, untangle thoughts, and turn fleeting moments into something lasti.. more..
