Forever Rain

Forever Rain

A Poem by M 💕

Forever rain

There are days
when the sky forgets to stop crying,
and I understand it
in ways I wish I didn’t.

It’s not the violence of storms
that undoes you,
it’s the steady, relentless ache
of a forever rain.
A sorrow so quiet,
you barely notice
how heavy you’ve become
until you try to rise.

I have carried storms inside me
that never made a sound.
Silent floods,
drowning memories
I was too kind to forget
and too afraid to remember.

And people will tell you
it passes,
like weather.
As if grief moves on a schedule,
as if loneliness
knows how to leave.

But some of us
are built like open windows,
letting the rain in
long after the sky clears.
And there’s a strange kind of peace
in surrendering to it -
in letting yourself
be soaked in something
you can’t control.

I think some hearts
were made to ache.
To feel the weight
of things that don’t have names.
And maybe
we are not meant to heal
but to hold it all
with gentleness.

To stand in the forever rain
unafraid,
letting it fall
without asking when it will stop.

Because in the quiet,
in the endless grey,
there’s a kind of truth
we only find
when everything else
is washed away.

About
I’m drawn to poetry because it captures what ordinary language often can’t. For me, it’s a way to sit with emotions, untangle thoughts, and turn fleeting moments into something lasti.. more..
