Misunderstood

people don't truly care
they're selfish straight from the start
but some rare people I come across
deep down have a heart
I'm one of those unlucky
alone, and often misunderstood
I try to live life the best I can
I'd try harder if only I could
I try to hold emotions back
my smile covers them all
I'm weak and strong and very young
but my weakness causes me to just fall
I'm a loner, mistaken much often
I have a broken heart caused by hate
I wish that I can start over
fresh with a new empty slate
I honestly hate being me
I'd try to change, really I would
but often I just get pushed down
for often I'm misunderstood

I enjoy looking back on my old writing. As for being misunderstood I have been in those shoes also. Feeling alone and like an alien in a sense.
