The Binding Misery

The Binding Misery

A Poem by Michael Wright

Drifting into the deep and dark night.
His soul knows little of the light.
The deep scars hide the pain.
Fear runs within his veins.
Anger dripping down with tears.
Knowing there will be no ending.
No one walks with him.
No one understands his pain.
All fear his reprise and anger.
Misery has chained him here.
The links are large and forged in hell.
No one sees the struggle deep within.
The soul is condemned by this misery.
There is no escape for his soul.
He does not fear death.
His fear is among the living.

this reminds me of Dean Koontz's version of Frankenstein...from a third person limited omniscient point of view.
