i wish to be bob dylan i am just a girl though i wish to be a poet lord knows we have enough of those

suddenly i want to be what you yearn babe
all the pages you’ve yet to read
selfishly i only want you to play notes
that i know remind you of me
i know it isnt me babe
i fear myself all alone in this need
id be happy watching you run dear
i only pray that it be towards me
you’re a flesh and blood rolling stone love
and don’t we all wish to be seen
you can’t help that it’s just not me babe
i can’t help that i wish it would be
you don’t mean to make me wish for fluid ease dear
and anyways its my fault i still follow beggin on my knees
we all know you’re off to bigger seas love
so then why am i still tugging at your sleeves
some people say i should cut you loose dear
i don’t because though we all wish to be rolling stones now
only some of us wish to be free
