god save us all

god save us all

A Poem by mae
"

i am workshopping this i think it has good bones

"
do you believe in the father, son?
do you believe he hand painted the first missiles built the first guns
what about the bombs?
you drink and whistle after the shootings done
a hard days work killin babies and watching em bleed out for fun
oh do you believe in the father, son?
next time you’re down on your knees
ask him how many kids he left without any mercy
the government you so love
building new worlds out of blood
when you wake up and find the fighting’s never really done
then will you regret not leading with more love
oh poor commander are you ashamed now you have to answer to all the crimes and violent pastimes you committed fighting the good fight for the bad guys
