Welcome to the world

My first poem

Welcome to the world,

please enjoy your stay,

but don't enjoy it too much,

or we'll take it all away,

accomplish everything you can

but keep it all a secret,

be sure to love yourself

but not too much or we'll tear you down,

we'll bully you for smiling,

then wonder why you frown.

we'll tell you that you're worthless,

you shouldn't talk so loud,

You'll regret not doing better

when you're six feet underground,

you can think and talk so freely

just as long as we agree,

and you can fall in love with anyone,

as long as we approve.

Welcome to the real world,

we hope you enjoy your stay,

And since you're here

we'll make this clear

You're never leaving, dear.
