My Imagination vs. Their Reality

My Imagination vs. Their Reality

A Poem by maktub
"

....it is ridiculous to label people with an 'overactive' imagination...

"

Seldom does the society surrounding
Possess the ability to grab my psyche,
For she wanders and ebbs continuously -
My mind, being, leaving behind my body.

My thoughts, world’s entirety engulfing -
A unity that enlarges my unseen sphere.
I am embracing all that lies around me,
With none knowing, I was ever even here.

That many of those defined as “company”,
Comprehend not an inkling regarding this,
Do I consider neither strange, nor funny…
But rather privacy perfectly marvelous.

To some, this phenomenon means little -
But I find it an infinite sea of peace.
Whereas to some it is a lonely struggle –
For me, amidst times of unrest, a release.

And so, to close - my stated “unreality”
Makes the harshness of living possible;
A gift that is of priceless worth to me -
My imagination makes existence livable.

Society could never grasp the ideas of overactive individual thinkers, for society is a collection of mass thinkers. Really great poem, I like the concept of the mind being completely separate from the body.
