A Perpetual WaitA Poem by Mala MukherjeeA wait for tomorrow disregarded todayA day as pure as today Lost in midst of normalities; Mutilated by the lethal routine; Remained ignored and plaintive. A hope for a regal tomorrow disregarded The happy miniatures painted today. As the rapacious heart inconsolably Mourned the perpetual wait for a life. An anguish not real, a despair that Curtained the elated happy prose Inscribed by an oblivious present, Smirked at the imprudent desire. The bright hues of a disdained soul Dampened by an utopian dream . A perennial thirst for a tomorrow. Veiled the magnanimity of today. © 2017 Mala MukherjeeAuthor's Note
