Dearest Friend

I wrote this for my friend Katherine. Kat, you're one of the few who have stuck by me after all these years, and this is for you.

Beautiful, lovely, charming

From our dark eyes I see the way

The way in a soul so warm

I feel the love in every laugh and embrace

A sisterhood of similar hearts

A lonely flower, I was,

Wanting another to stand beside me

You came out of the ground, the soil,
