Despite this being very short, you've managed to paint such unusual word portraits that really sing! I love the reference to a green dragon, as I've heard tornado weather in the Midwest has a "greenish" tinge. What I like most is the way you've carried each of these images to the extreme, so they barely resemble "weather" anymore . . . but still very apt descriptions of a wild storm abrewing! The final line shows the utmost of imagination, geese flying backwards. I just love when a writer goes outside the dots of what's expected in such descriptions!
Hi Sonia, I did an entire collection of Tanka poems on Wattpad for the purpose of breaking myself of the habit of rhyming. It ended up being a much more enjoyable experience than I thought it would be. I love this poem you did here. Haha, that last line is funny. :)

My favorite line is "dragon in disguise" which is so perfect in describing an oncoming storm. Whatever that storm may be, a person or literally a rainstorm, that line could describe it.
I have been writing poetry, short stories and articles for over twenty years. Writing is relaxing for me since my muse and me are usually compatible. I look forward to hearing from other writers and .. more..
