A Bedtime Wish

I wish I were cool enough,
I wish I were awesome.
I wish I could get up to my crush
and shout out " I just love you!"
I wish I could climb Mount Everest
and be its youngest climber yet.
Or sink beneath in the deepest of seas
and find a titanic in its depths!
I've always wanted to travel to space
and be captive to men from mars.
Maybe I'd get sucked into a black hole
or surf the waves of a shooting star!
Yet as I stare at the gleaming moon
that is at home by night,
I'd much rather dream in bed tonight
tucked up with a kiss whispering: "Sleep tight!"

This is a dreamy and magical write! I loved the rhyming....it flowed so easily and the rhythm was perfect. It's wonderful to dream, but, yes, sometimes being in the comfort of your own bed surrounded by those who love you is the best place to be. Lydi**

Thanks! Yeah, you're right. When I first wrote this poem, I was just tossing out all the crazy stuff I wanted to do at that moment. The "dream" part was a modification a year later. I'm glad it drew your attention, though. Cheers!
