HallucinationA Poem by Maria CarmenI wrote this poem yesterday when my friend told me he smoked some drug that made him hallucinate and he told me about his experience in an IM and when he first started talking, it sounded poetic so I decided to lead him on and the words are 98% exactly an“Hallucination” He said, “I literally saw bright colors and shapes turn; Faces fading as my world changed. I was numb and so giggly.” And when it first hit, it came almost in an instant. It built like a storm and I began to crawl.” “What was the storm like? Was it raining, snowing, hailing or more?” “Clouds of darkness waving and spiraling around a child With images of fear and love yet I didn’t know which to touch. It only made the euphoria more exotic and more wild; Like a blooming rose bush in the wild in that way.” “What an hallucination...” she breathed But she didn’t see it that way. She said, “I find what you just told me very interesting and a piece of art; A painting of some world that comes to you when your senses are more heightened, Opened, and more vulnerable to the fear of the vision to haunt you, Yet it gives off a vision that's art” “That’s what I got” Then she asked the ultimate question in which she felt the need to ask What did you take away from the experience?” Only for his answer to be “I see” © 2009 Maria CarmenAuthor's Note
