Blue Ribbon no more

Blue Ribbon no more

BLUE RIBBON NO MORE…

By: MJS

I was a regular brick in Black and White

I brought down the house of honor and erudite

I was the empress of Augustan Age emerging high

And I was the apple of everyone’s eye

In the midst of my throne

I met a brother Jonathan

He said he’s defamed in Black and White

He was swept in my El Dorado land

But when my skills backed out from my glorious blue ribbon…

He made a clean breast that he wanted to vie my hope

And conquer my El Dorado and hit my Achilles’ heel.

I was the Royal Highness of the Queen’s English

I was the flaunting more than Shakespeare’s wordsmith

I was the mysterious Queen of Sheba, might be the Lady Godiva

But I was depreciate, whipped and defamed by my

   Vicious, contemptible David and Jonathan

I keep my soul together, owning the Adam’s ale of his life

For he had been taken aback my Blue Ribbon

Not knowing he has a Pyrrhic victory

We’re on the same boat, riding a Blue Ribbon no more…
