Strong Enough

Broken and afraid,

Feeling lost inside a soul. 

No one to miss me,

And no one to fight for me.

"-They do get on a lot better...without me..."

So, why chase what you don't need?

The world keeps spinning,

But time seems to stand still.

My mom loves me,

But, she will do fine without me here.

I won't be gone for forever,

Just for a little while.

Feeling stronger than ever,

I pick up my bags and get on my way.

With tears in my eyes,

And love in my heart;

I walk out of this house,

To leave this broken life.

So, with my love waiting,

And my best-friend too.

Off to the little town of Maycomb I go.

Author's Note

This is a poem I wrote for an English 3 project on the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" I had to write from the point of a character so I chose Dill where he came to Maycomb when he ran away in part 2 of the book. Let me know what you think please????
