To An Un-Met LoveA Poem by MarkWritten is a flood of self-pity, at the end of a several-years long fruitless love Crusade, affirming my devout belief that She was out there...SOMEWHERE!TO AN UN-MET LOVE I thought of you the other day, I told me all about you, And though as yet We have not met, I feel it very safe to say: I need not; I cannot; I WILL not live without you! In my vision, you spoke to me Of things I'd never dream'd of: Of un-sung pitch, Of un-scratched itch, And it was Oh!, so plain to see I need you, And you Need to need my love! And as I sat there, contemplating All the Bliss our Fates have waiting, Thoughts of you Saw me through Kept me true to aim and plan. I never even half-considered: Could all these loving thoughts be littered Inside a Maze Whose Walls and Stays Might well erase or dictate who I am? So, Myst'ry Girl, I have to know: Should I seek, or forget you? This possible Love is so full Of doubts, my anxious fears must show! Alas, it seems My Hopes, my Dreams, My fervent Schemes upset you! Despite this, Un-met Love, I pray That He who o'ersees care May bring Us near Some future year And offer cheer in EVERY way; With his card played, I'm not afraid This wish I've made we soon may share: THE SUN WILL SHINE FOR US THAT DAY!
