Wind SongA Poem by MarkCan a man ever hope to own the heart of a woman, even if it is given voluntarily?WIND SONG
Like the wind, you seem to blow, But I know not where ‘tis you go-- Pray let me ask, oh, gentle Wind, May I be to you a friend?
This past month had flown swiftly by, But ‘tis not mine to reason why! I wished a wish that could not be! (Perhaps it wasn’t meant for me…)
To leave imparts such bitter pain, As more than friend to own you, I would fain! But why, I ask, dost hurt so bad, To lose that which I never had?
