Selfless Portrait

for her...

To me, she is the Mona Lisa of Islam.

No wonder I could not paint her beauty with words.

I guess some works of art

we're never meant to be created.

But we are HERE now...

Trying to figure out what to do

with this paintbrush, canvas, and blurs of beautiful colors

that are blinding us from reality.

To be gifted is a curse sometimes.

Honestly, hard to tell if the "her" is an actual being or an ideology. The piece does not lean either way. However, while it seems to just linger that way, I still enjoyed the writing/word placement very much. I'm wondering if more would give it direction but you are the author, the parent of this piece and know best so I will not question it too much. Still a great piece to get one thinking.

The last line takes the poem somewhere I didn't originally see it going. Very cool poem. The title is good; the content takes on the idea of something so beautiful it can't be captured in art. Those are beautiful, bittersweet times. Lovely poem.

this is a great thought provoking piece, perhaps as mentioned below, a bit more direction would make it more full, but i wouldn't change a thing now personally. love the last line.
