"I-It's Okay. I Just Needed Someone Right Now."A Poem by Janette Jets
The earliest I can recall being hurt by my mother was in 7th or 8th grade
I didn't take care of my responsibilities therefore something had to be paid Fifteen minutes before she left for work My eyes were glued to the computer as if I was some desk clerk She left and I phoned my close friend at the time The way to the phone felt like a long climb I bawled and bawled What I said, I can't recall... "I'm so sorry... I-I don't know what to say..." I didn't need consoling in my moment of wanting to run away I just needed someone to know about the day that I've let go
