Please stop yelling, I cant hear the propaganda channelA Poem by Benjamin Seymour
It’s not that I can’t write like I used to –
I just don’t want to right now. Bored, bored, bored. Do you want a cup of tea? Did you see the accident the other day? [I was at college, how could I have seen it?] A man was speeding and went into the back of a lorry [So you’ve told me three times already] I heard he went into hospital – suppose it’ll be in the local news this week… Sugar? None. Milk? Blue. You’ll get fat drinking that… [Do I look as if I need to diet already?] So who’s going to win the football match tonight? My bet is on Manchester United; they’re in great form. [Second person finally responds] Look: I’m trying to listen to the propaganda channel here…The Government is telling me how to think and what to do How am I supposed to know who to fear this week if you keep talking? Besides, Big Brother is on E4 right now… I’m supposed to be watching that
The homeless guy selling the Big Issue wants to know what’s going on
He was asking me whether or not that b***h would be evicted this week. As you can see, I’ve got more important things to think about… What’s for tea? [First person thinks] I’ll do a stir-fry © 2008 Benjamin Seymour |
