The Girl With Bad LuckA Story by maureen
Once there was a little girl named Ellie. She was very happy with her life; she had many siblings and her parents were her biggest inspiration. Her father worked at a big law firm and her mother was a kindergarten teacher. When she was five her parents decided that they needed a vacation, so they decided to go on a cruise. While on the cruise a very large storm came to the water and the ship shipwrecked and every single person died that day, including her parents. All the siblings were put into foster care but the government couldn't find a family who wanted all the kids, so they were all separated. Ellie was the luckiest out of all her siblings because she got very nice foster parents. They loved her, put her into a good school, let her do dance, and best of all spent much time with her. After a year of living with them they decided to adopt her. Sadly a couple years after she was adopted her mom was driving to work when a drunk driver hit her car head on and she died instantly. The father did not want her he just agreed to adopt her because he saw how much his wife loved her, so he decided to put her back into the foster system. This little girl went from house to house and got abused in every single one of them. One house she remembers clearly was terrible. They would come home at midnight very drunk. They would walk in yelling and when they got into her room and she was awake and crying they would beat her. Once the beating was so bad that she almost died but she didn't. When she turned 18 and graduated high school she got a full scholarship to Yale. She had worked very hard in school because she knew she would never play sports and she didn't have money to go to college without a scholarship. She also needed a way of forgetting about her life and school did that for her. While in Yale she fell in love. They got married and had a child. When her child was three she was blessed to find out she would have another child. When she was five months pregnant she found out her child was very unhealthy and the baby was a stillborn. She was very devastated. She had to go through therapy and she felt like she was a murder. That she could've done something, anything different but she didn't and she was very mad at herself. Her husband agreed with her thinking. Actually he's the one who encouraged it. He was the one who told her it was her fault, and he was the one who left her because of it. Not only did he leave her but he took their son with him. She couldn't believe all of this had happened to her so she simply just stopped living. She got up, got ready, ate breakfast, went to work, came home, made supper, at supper, watched television, and finally went to bed.
