Stifled

in the darkest night,
my body is
motionless,

the weight of the world,
rest upon my chest,
shadows dance upon my walls,

whispers, echoes,
cold and silent air,
their taunting me,

time dances sluggishly,
minutes stretch into eternities,
i am almost frozen,

a single tear escapes
as the darkness enfolds,
