A Poem by Max Rwizi, Jr.

I was not searching for anything when you walked in.
Just drifting through my own quiet half convinced nothing sacred was meant for me.
Then there you were.
And suddenly the air felt intentional like the universe had paused just long enough
to place you in front of me.
Your eyes.
I still don’t know how they do that thing
How they look at me like they recognise something I forgot.
Your smile softens me in places I didn’t even know were bruised.
And the way you talk about chocolate.
That childlike glow
That little spark in your voice like sweetness is a memory you never outgrew.
I fall for that part of you every time.
Meeting you felt like accident meets fate like the world finally made a move on my behalf.
A gentle collision
a blessing disguised as coincidence.
