It is the methods by which we achieve our objectives, which help to define whether or not we are good.
Of course, objectives can sometimes be good or bad; but it depends upon the context in which we are working towards those objectives.
In addition, it depends upon our motivations behind working towards whatever objectives we have in life.
Ultimately, whether or not you see yourself as a "winner"; also depends upon how you define success.
By setting the bar too high, for defining a "win"; it inevitably means that you have created an opportunity to lose. So, why do that to yourself in the first place? Except for when, you know for sure; that "winning" is actually going to bring you some satisfaction or contentment.
But, unless you eventually find enough satisfaction and content in life; it's virtually impossible to actually be happy. So, don't allow yourself to be angst-ridden or frustrated; through setting restrictive parameters about what it means to be a "winner"...
Woah! Haven't seen you on here in a while and there is so much to dissect with this!
Your take on good and bad is different, you saying that there are only winners in the world is talking about how now it feels like we only live to self gratify.
"No saint who will abhor the cruel and the evil for your evil" I think with this line you were trying to say that we are all bad people, we pray to repent and say that we apologize, only to do it again to harm someone or something, and repent again, so this line is saying that there is no saint who will make you feel good about being evil to an evil person, that's like...beautiful.
" you win by winning, not by being called a winner, you lose because you lost, not because someone called you a loser" This is actually the best line i've ever read, it emphasizes the importance of actions and results over mere labels or titles. It suggests that true success comes from actually achieving victory through your efforts and abilities, not just being recognized or praised for it. Similarly, failure is determined by the outcome and the mistakes made, rather than how others perceive or label you. In essence, the saying emphasizes the significance of tangible accomplishments and losses rather than external validation or judgment. You're again talking about how we live to self gratify and for external validation from other people.
I like how you say "there is only you and I and who can live their life better" like even living is a competition for humans because we NEED to win.
Then you wrap it up by admitting that you DO want to be a good person, you want to be something undefinable and holy, but you also want to be a winner, this is you understanding that you live too self gratify as well, that you are exactly who you disdain, and that's beautiful.
Love seeing your writing as per usual, this was one of your shorter ones, but incredibly good.

I'd like to leave my mark somewhere, and hope it matters, maybe my words reach someone, and if they do, then that someone will know I was here.
