Forgiveness

Forgiveness

A Poem by Matthew Clough

I’m as bitter as the coffee I drink at sunrise,

as begrudging as the stars vanishing in flame,

as desperate as the moon to remain in blue skies,

as fragile as the wiry clouds shattered by storm,

as hopeless as humans in the face of galaxies.

Yet it spills from me as abundantly as deep pink waves

tumbling from absolute daylight into infinite horizon.

I really like this, you spun forgiveness in a new light. We can still feel that bitterness and yet go that place of light in our minds. Nicely pen'd, enjoyed.
