Loved Nonetheless

Loved Nonetheless

A Poem by Michael Sun Bear
"

Longing for a daughter

"

Loved Nonetheless

Life denied me children

Yet I love a daughter.

Daily do I seek her,

Do I see her,

Her hair a thick river fall

Like May melt from the mountains,

Like ripe olives gathered

In a skirt are

The sweet color of her eyes.

So easy her laugh

A sound like raven’s chuckle.

Tall and lithe she stands,

Newly formed full woman.

So often she hugs,

Never fails to say

I love you.

Life denied me children

Yet I love a daughter.

A sadness to be denied children. A very touching write Michael. Your imaginary daughter, you paint so poetically with your words. I captured her essence. She would have loved you. My Dad was fortunate , he had three daughters and we all adored him and know also, that we were all treasured. You write beautiful
poetry my friend.

This piece is quite affecting with warmness unabashed.
It tells a genuine, personalised story - a picture painted in feels - of how love, indeed, does touch us like the sun on both sides... inside and out.

Bittersweet and lovely write Michael..... although you want a daughter and cannot have one, you show us so much love that you could give to one...your words are perfect to portray your emotions about this....yet you still have the love to give to others' children, a daughter.....
Warmly, B
