Morning

A Poem by Michael Sun Bear

A description of my mornings

Morning

(For you Kelly)

I love

My little room

Entire silvered by dawn.

Tossing into trash bin

Yesterday’s coffee pod

I toss out yesterday’s cares.

Inserting a new pod

I turn the page

Of my small life.

As the Keurig brews

That first cup

It sounds a shush:

Quiet be, still be, just be

Look at the cedars and firs

Glowing with the

Fire of God.

So I sip

Coffee and chill morning air

And rock my rocking chair

To the rhythm

Of birds at the feeder

All else can wait

Ah the simple pleasures of our daily rituals....:)

Brewing a fresh coffee, slowing down and taking time in nature.....

I liked the lines about tossing out the coffee pod with yesterday's cares....

A good write..

Feel free to stop by and check out one of my poems...

I love this! This is my style, I usually write a poem over coffee and used to share them here but haven't shared in a long time or have to write of those wonderful morning coffee moments. they really set the mood for the day. Wonderful!

Such a delight to read Michael. A beautiful and visual read with the aroma of coffee thrown in for added measure. No rush, the world can wait. My kind of morning too. Perfect poetry.

Hello Chris, I just woke up, dawn is around the corner, and today I have your warm words to go with .. read more
Sometimes attributed to St Francis of Assisi, Desmond Tutu, General Abram's; the proverbial "how to eat an elephant? One bite at a time", is an indictment on acceptance of overwhelm and the enormity of things while simply doing what is possible in the face of it all.

One bite at a time is its own tremendous reality, after all - just look at leaf-cutter ants!

I, like you, Sun Bear, choose coffee!
