I grew up in a Muslim family as a Muslim, and although I didn't choose that path later, when I'm feeling down i still pray to a god in the name of Allah. It's just an old habit for me, but this prayer has brought me peace. Thank you for sharing.

There is a theory in mysticism that certain languages, particularly Arabic and Hebrew, just by their very sounds affect the spiritual centers of the body. I am a Western Sufi mureed, attuned to Islam but not specifically Muslim. Allah is the name for God that settles most gently and perfectly in my heart.

I absolutely believe this theory. I still breathe easier when I say Bismillahirrahmanirrahim before meals. Maybe just my safe place because of my home... Wishing you all the best sir!
