Cow Haiku

Cow Haiku

A Poem by Michael Sun Bear
"

While driving me home from the hospital where I had major surgery, my mother gave me bad news.

"

Past the cows she said

While in cast in pain I lay

Cancer killed your dog

It never rains but it pours. How distressing a situation to find yourself in. How very difficult as a mother I would find it, to have to break that news to you in those circumstances. That is how I read your cow haiku. I think my timing would have been different. I am probably way off the mark Michael.
