Happiness and Envy

Happiness and Envy

A Poem by meerkat_111

Happiness is such a widely desired aspect of life. Being happy is the sun rising a few hours later, giving people extra hours sleep. It's when Santa gives a child exactly what they wanted for Christmas. Happiness is such a simple emotion to some people when really; happy is the bee-hive to other emotions.

The desire to be happy can be misleading though; it can lead to a horrible path of envy. Envy of every single person they pass who has a grin as bright as the hottest star and laugh as jolly as a father whose son scored the winning goal for soccer. There are people that cherish happiness like a baby made of glass and some that are so obnoxiously rich with this emotion they have no idea what to do with it.

But if you squint your eyes and play God for a moment, observing from afar, looking where no one really looks, there's also those who are so unfamiliar with being happy and filled with envy that they toss the emotion to the side like some litterer with no idea how to use a bin. They throw away the opportunity to catch the most beautiful butterfly in existence and throw the net in the opposite direction.

I have had my share of observing happy people that are deeply envious
I always thought happiness to be a very internal thing
that no one can see or sense
and something to be enjoyed in privacy to the point that you no longer acknowledge or see anyone else

Thats where the flaw of logic lies
truly happy people can never envy
they can't see what others have and if they do its a passing moment ...... leading into their own internal sunshine

I dont know thats my head

Really well done
