A Chapter by merlino

She ran down that steep slope, the deep rotting scent of death and annihilation strangling her with such a lack of mercy, her eyes were instinctively bulging so much they looked like they would fall out their sockets and her hands clutched at her throat unable to stop herself from suffocating. As her body worked on overdrive to keep her heart beating and her jaw slammed tightly shut to keep herself conscious, she witnessed the humid air plotting to sentence her to greater agony-her torture was not over-not yet.
Her dry eyes could not even supply a single tear to accommodate her feelings of deprivation and vulnerability. Her voice had been stolen away from her. But the warrior she was, her legs kept striking at the ground in continuous rapid motions reminding her that she required safety and it was in fact, a priority. That is, until they gave out and her knees hit the ground in an inescapable sound of defeat, her back hunched over and her forehead hit the grainy thorns of sand. Her vision became unclear whilst her eyelids finally drooped low and met as a gradual symbol of loss. The life she had once clung onto so tightly was now dissipating away from her, off to join the the billions of stars in the sky.
