A Poem by merlino

She wondered when her heart had become so cold,
When did her love for her mother,
Her father,
Those feelings of joy and pride,
Truly disappear?

Her eyes were sunken and tired,
Her back had adopted a circular shape,
Her posture was reminiscent of a cavewoman's.

She needed that extra push,
Those words of encouragement she'd never ever asked for before,
She felt unloved as writing
Became her only sanctuary.

Where did her emotions go?  Why did she feel so numb?

Her skin, her eyelids and her her breath felt so warm,
But inside she felt cold as though she never belonged
Even in her own home.

Many people live alone-
Is she lonely?

She wants to love
But how is it possible to love,
When you don't feel like
you've ever been loved.
