With furious force each wave does crash
pounding the rock-lined shore
Each has power within itself
neither will win the war.
Time after time waves do come
to meet their craggy foe
The waves give slap to the face
of rocks that take each blow.
The wave's no more, soon as it lands
its force becomes a spray
The rocks resist and hold the line
but slowly wear away.
Over time waves reduce the rock
down to be simply sand
But sand remains to hold this flow
along this coastal strand.
Stalemates the word for this fight
yes, neither side will win
In nature's world its what they do
but for man – it’s a sin!
We don't have the power of God
to wage an endless war
In youth's pure blood we seed the fight
and Satan keeps the score.
Not for the lost does he keep count
on his dark tally-board
He counts the ones that waste them so
and they’ll have his reward.
Stupid is man to act like waves
pounding upon the shores
God gave us love in endless depths
with love we open doors.
Like a wave we can wear away
opponents that we face
but in the end they'll still be there
so why dare run the race?
Someday, I pray, we understand
we're more than just some wave
We carry God's love in our souls
in love our future's paved.
