This Is Happy Now

a poem about depression and negative coping

Take another pill

Take away the pain

She's mentally ill

With tears like rain

Tries to fill the oblivion

Fill the f*****g empty

Hearts let it sink in

Hearts get heavy

Make it lighter

Life the weight

Light up my lighter

And lose the hate

Now I can't feel

I don't f*****g care

This is how I heal

I guess that's fair

I can just let go

Don't ever ask how

From the smoke I blow

This is happy now

Sure that was sad

From my head to my toes

I was f*****g mad

This is all I know

Don't need to cope

Just need my drugs

Don't need to hope

Just need to f**k

Gosh, in a lot of ways I can relate. I didn't become hooked on drugs or smoking, but when the one girl I have ever loved told me she didn't feel the same way about me, I confined myself to the protective covers of my bed and stopped living. I still feel the pain and it's still hard at times. I know the pain all too well
