Living with your absence

Living with your absence

A Poem by Midnight Dreams

I have been watching the path,

For long, with hopeful eyes;

In dreams I see your arrival,

On the pathway several times.

I think of you when birds sing,

In the garden laden with flowers;

I think of you when rain drops,

On misty evenings, as heaven’s showers.

I feel your warmth when I am hurt,

Around my shoulder, your gentle arm;

I see you smile, I hear you laugh,

I feel your touch as you make me calm.

Your absence is all around me,

Like a grey and brown evening;

Yet I live with a hope in my eyes.

That turning path, I keep watching..
