I Fear

I fear loneliness in an overpopulated world,

I fear death in a religion of life,

I fear rejection in a society of individualism,

I fear my life in the face of death,

I fear love in the midst of singleness,

I fear singleness in a world of relationships,

I fear thought in the minds of the ignorant,

I fear disappointment in spite of all my successes,

I fear wisdom for the responsibility it brings,

I fear words out the mouths of those that hate,

I fear guns in the hands of children,

I fear fear for the thoughts it puts into my head.
