7 Deadly Sins

7 Deadly Sins

A Poem by Milena Grubor

In crypts where crawling serpents sing,
And cursed winds through catacombs ring,
Lust lights its flame in a velvet abyss,
A dance of the damned sealed with a kiss.

Feasts of the flesh on goldplated bones,
Gluttony groans through hollowed thrones.
Greed with its grip like a serpent’s snare,
Chokes out the light with a dragon’s glare.

Sloth in its shroud, a funereal grace,
Time drips like blood on a pale, dead face.
Wrath in red fury breaks heaven’s crown,
A kingdom of ash, all burning down.

Envy's gaze like a serpent’s eye,
Green as the grave beneath the sky.
Pride stands tall on a crumbling spire,
Blind to the fall, drunk on desire.

Seven sins in a serpent’s kiss,
Born of the void, we plunge to the abyss.
Chains forged in fire, dreams turned to dust,
Ashes to ashes, in ruin we trust.

Each heartbeat tolls a funeral chime,
Marking the end of love and time.
The gates of grace are barred and cold,
While we dance with death in the age of old.

The fruit we sowed now splits and bleeds,
A harvest grown from wicked deeds.
As the clock ticks midnight, let the dark consume our skin,
We were born of sin, and we’ll die within.
