CainA Poem by Milena Grubor
Like a rose on a grave of love, Bloomed once red, now black above. Laid on stone where your name once bled, Now dust has kissed the things you said.
You
crawled through dreams on spider thread, Spinning silk where angels fled. Your voice, a siren in the mist, Sang lullabies with poison kissed.
A
sleeping child you wore by day, But in your eyes, no dawn would stay. Beneath your skin, a hunger moaned, A vampire clothed in flesh and bone.
You
fed on light, on trust, on need, And laced your path with charm and greed. You sang of stars and sacred kin, Not dragonborn, but Cain, in borrowed skin.
I
was a fool. I drank the sound, Of every vow that came unbound. I called you sister, soft and near, Not knowing you hid the blade so clear.
You
danced with roots and graveyard air, With gods who never heard a prayer. Not sky, not fire, not stone would keep, Your soul runs shallow, sharp, and deep.
You
bore no halo, cast no light, Just endless dark that eats the night. The woods remember where you tread, And hush at every word you said.
You
built your mask from ash and bone, A throne of lies you called your own. You took, you broke, you hexed, you feigned, And all for what? Some hollow name.
No
dragon wakes, no runes will burn, No Dovahkiin shall now return. The blood you spilled has turned to rust, The bond you broke devoured by dust.
I
do not seek to mend or mourn, I flay your name from all I’ve worn. Once carved in me, deep in my chest, Now rots within a grave unblessed.
Let
wolves forget you ever were, Let wind not speak your name or slur. Let soil devour your final trace, No shrine remains. No sacred place.
I
do not moan. I do not cry. Each line you wrote I let it die. I unremember what I knew, And salt the root that once was you.
You
are not ghost. You are not flame. Not even wrath recalls your name. You are the space that eats the sound, A wound that sealed, but left no ground.
