"I Cast You Out" Written By Milena GruborA Poem by Milena Grubor![]() The night grew heavy, walls and floor confined, They sought to bring destruction of the mind. Unholy whispers dripped like poisoned rain, Marking cradle and hearth with fear and pain. Nightmares nested deep behind the very eyes, Sleep became a court where every breath told lies. Black crows flew low, crosses clenched in beaks, Not heralds of doom, but warnings the night speaks. Yet when the dawn breaks the hollow night, Lord’s light appears, dispelling fright. Purging the unholy whispers, banishing the fears, Melting away the darkness of countless years. No inherited darkness claims sacred bloodline, No ancient curse may trespass on my time. The pain that tore a family melts away, Like wax before the fire of a coming day. I cast you out, who came at night, And marked the threshold bare in spite. Dead creatures lined the path where light had flown, Your curse held fast, but now it’s overthrown. © 2026 Milena Grubor |
