"Jekyll And Hyde" Written By Milena Grubor

A Poem by Milena Grubor

Red roses blackened in their bloom,
Thorns crowned the heart, a living tomb.
The rivers of the world ran deep,
And innocence was swept to sleep.

Two wolves dwell in every heart unseen,
One soft and warm, one cruel and keen.
The one that feeds shall take the reign,
And drown the other in endless pain.

The world starved good, it fed the night,
Till Jekyll waned, and Hyde took flight.
From fractured bone and shattered mind,
A darker self the world designed.

Shadows crawled along the bones of earth,
Gnawing the soul that once knew worth.
Fires of malice scorched the air,
While silent screams dissolved in despair.

Wild eyes like coals, hands wrought of flame,
A beast emerged, none left to name.
What once was gentle now roams in the wild,
The Jekyll forged, the darker child.
