"Apocalypse" Written By Milena Grubor

"Apocalypse" Written By Milena Grubor

A Poem by Milena Grubor

From earliest dawn, when man first drew the sword,
He scorned the law, defied the living Lord.
Empires rose high upon the broken flesh,
While mercy died, and blood became their mesh.

The native lands were plundered, razed, and lost,
Their temples crushed beneath the conqueror’s cost.
The tales of truth and reason crushed by might,
The meek oppressed, their hearts denied the light.

The daughters wept, the sons were torn and sold,
While kings and tyrants smiled and praised their gold.
The young grew hollow, innocence decayed,
And history’s lessons vanished in the shade.

Yet still no hand was raised, no soul replied,
No prayer arose, no justice stood beside.
Man turned from God, denied the righteous Way,
And walked in darkness, thinking night was day.

And still they tremble at the sky’s black roar,
As if the apocalypse had not begun before.
For doom was born the day the world looked past,
The screams, the tears, the warnings of the last.
