“Heartless” Written By Milena Grubor

A Poem by Milena Grubor

Unfaithful lover, brother, friend,

You tear the living, yet all things end.
A drifting soul on salt-black seas,
With hollow heart and bent decrees.

Your thoughts lie wrapped in ashen cloud,
Where distant screams grow fierce and loud.
You swore to build, to love, to stay,
Then scattered vows like dust and clay.

You dreamed of home, yet fled its light,
Too weak to face the coming life.
You crushed the hope that dared to breathe,
And left its future underneath.

The infant’s cry was choked to none,
Its dawn erased before begun.
No demon spoke, no darkness stirred.
Your hand alone pronounced the word.

What once was sacred, warm, and true,
You broke as if it never knew.
Perhaps she seemed a passing flame,
A moment’s flesh without a name.

A man in form, a child in will,
Too small to stand, too blind to still.
When silence closes, thick and slow,
You’ll hear the weight of what you know.

Mark well this hour, remember when:
All hidden rot returns again.
Unfaithful son, unfaithful friend,
Your borrowed darkness meets its end.
