Why

I think I’ve forgotten how to function.

Don’t get me wrong,

I still move and talk and breathe and blink,

But I think I’ve forgotten how to live.

Don’t get me wrong,

I still laugh and love and hate and think,

But I think I’ve forgotten how this goes,

Why we’re here,

What we’re doing.

 

And though I still go on functioning and living,

I never stop thinking.

I never stop wondering why.
