Survivor of the massacre

Chief Sagwitch has been noted on occassion in books. He had negotiated with Peter for peace as well.

  Sagwitch had managed to escape the battle. He had been shot in the hand. His son survived as well after several gun shot wounds. While he was escaping on a horse, the horse was shot from underneath him. He had hid in a hot spring until it was dark. Then he had helped the survivors to escape.
