A Soul's Tune Rings Loudly

A Soul's Tune Rings Loudly

A Poem by Michelle Anselm
"

I took a wonderful guitar class in 9th grade, but sadly forgot what I had learned when I switched thereafter to a school that didn't teach the class. I still strum my guitar from time to time, but I miss that feeling it gave me - the one expressed here. (

"

Sore, reddened fingertips strum, stingingly;

the vibrating sound makes them tingly.

Wavering cords and coils of cold metal

are my passageways to self-expression.

Rich in curves and wooden veins -

the body of something so simple,

bellowing deep in the depths

of a dark empty cavern,

are the sounds that make my heart sing.
