guess it was all wishful thinking
that you could be someone special
someone who really meant what he said
someone who was willing to stick by me
you said through thick and thin
it is thick and suddenly there is no you
i was a fool wasn't i
and you can't even tell me this
so in the back of my mind i still wonder
maybe i am misunderstanding
i want to be wrong about you now
i want to know something and put my tired mind at ease
i want to quit blaming myself and looking into every corner
for something that may just simply be gone for good
