A Poem by Wildheart
"

The exact amount of days it took for one life to end and another to begin.

"
The time it took to lose you
I left my body standing stone
No silent words came through my walls
When I heard you, you were gone.
Now the distance and the anguish
are brought to measure in our flesh
and every separate moment
recovers nothing for our rest.
The complex palpitations
of a love that should grow old
Watching now as everything
I've ever known is sold.
I'll give my heart for favours
my body as a souvenir
Because no-one can mean anything
whilst the scent of you is here.
All the words have left me wrong
and everything they meant is gone
and when I see that agony
My heart beats cold.
